Type G Viking axe. Hand forged axe head is made by wrapping softer steel around a hardened bit, 5" sharpened edge. 19" hickory handle. Great for throwing or camp chores. Weighs about 1lb 14oz. Made in the USA.

Favorite light axe
I have purchased six tomahawk style axes from HB Forge, and this design is my very favorite. Their work is excellent, and for years I have entrusted my life to HB whenever I am in the woods. Even if you arent buying this for Viking interest, get one. They stay sharp, are easy to re-sharpen and bite deep.

This is my 3rd H&B axe.It is also my 4th Viking type axe and the best I have cold steel and Paul Chen but this blows them out of the water.If I have one small gripe it I do not like the placement of the H&B logo I wish it was applied somewhere more inconspicuous but is not that big of a deal as to me H&B means Quality

Fantastic Axe!
I've been very pleased with this forged Type G. Without question it's the best one-handed fighting axe I've had to date. The balance is perfect and it handles nimbly. I would not recommend it for heavy chopping, but it is nevertheless very tough. The makers have incorporated subtle but critical extensions forward and back to allow for hooking and grabbing.
