This incredibly well-decorated sword is modeled after an original found in a 9th century burial mound at Hedeby in Denmark. The original was no doubt owned by a great chieftain or perhaps even a King. Guard and pommel are made from brass with a leather covered wood grip.
Forged blade is made from tempered N45 high carbon steel and is not sharpened.
Comes with leather covered wood scabbard which is decorated with chape and pommel.
Weight: 3lbs 8oz
Blade length: 28.75”
Grip length: 4.5”
Note: we’ve noticed that one side of the pommel tends to have less crisp detailing. We think it gives character, the last picture shows this side of pommel.
This sword is not recommended for any blade-on-blade reenactment type of combat.

Sword
Excellent sword but the sheaths rubber lining was torn slightly upon arrival. Other then that the detail was outstanding on both sheath and sword

Hedeby Sword
Beautiful detail on the pommel and hilt and a deep red scabbard combine to make this a really incredible sword. Shipping was fast as usual and the sword was very well packed.
