This seax is modeled after the Seax of Beagnoth which was found in the river Thames and is dated to the 9th century. It is clear from all the details on the blade that the original was owned by a Viking chieftain or king. Blade is tempered high carbon steel and decorated with engraved runes. Comes with sheath. This one is truly a mighty seax.

Impressive Seax
This is a very impressive-looking weapon. The long blade is heavy and beautifully decorated with a runic pattern. And the sheath is well made and fits nicely. However, the blade arrived bent (about 5 degrees) at the grip, so there does not seem to be any temper. As long as you don't use it too hard it will be great for light reenactment and display.

Amazing artifact quality
The runes (alphabet) on the blade are captivating. Heavy/thick blade, very high quality and authentic. Worth every penny.
