This pendant is based on small hammered gold amulets or offerings called gullgubber which means “little man of gold.” These are believed to date back to the late Iron Age through the early Viking Age and have been found in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. It is theorized that these images may have depicted the love relationship between the Norse Vanir God Freyr and the jötnar Giantess Gerd. The runes are from the Elder Futhark and read “Love Endures.” Made from jewelers bronze. Approximately 1 1/4" tall.

This is such a sweet piece. Whether it's Gods loving one and other or God(s) loving us, the message is beautifully rendered here. A real conversation piece as well.
